Windstream is HORRIBLE to Customers
I am a work from home customer service specialist. I (unfortunately) chose Windstream as my internet service provider recently. I am required to log in to a VPN. The internet connection is so horrid that I at times can not even log in to my VPN or can not stay connected. The ping rates are insane and the upload speeds are unacceptable. I have repeatedly called their customer service center only to be lied to or made promises that have never materialized. I am loosing time at my job, money and gaining frustration! They will not help me with my issues and allow me to make money to pay their bill!! I would never treat a customer like they have treated me, NEVER!

Takes advantage of the elderly
my mother, a 79 yr. old woman, signed up for phone service with windstream, they neglected to inform her of an almost $60 change over charge and now even if she cancels service they will bill her the $60. I feel they really take advantage of the elderly, at least in my mothers situation, and will do nothing to make this right. She had been convinced this would save her money, as she is on a limited income, and now pays more than she did before, even without the change over fee. they are a huge rip off and I would recommend not to use windstream unless you have money to throw away.
Windstream has absolutely no care for their customers...
I live in north Georgia. Today's date is 3/24/11. We have had a massive internet outage for 3 days now. Not to mention, it's been "spotty" the times that we HAVE had internet... My fiance' works from home on the internet for one of his jobs, and at a Gamestop store for his second job. I work at a restaurant called Taco Mac. All of these places use Windstream as their ISP. This is absolutely ridiculous and has never happened with any other ISP. I could not get my tips after my shift OR clock out after my shift because the internet was down at the restaurant. My fiance was supposed to be at Gamestop for a midnight release of a game, and had to close the store because of the internet outage which affected his customer relations terribly. Not to mention the fact that he was not able to work for 5 hours 2 days ago. When we contacted Windstream and asked to be reimbursed for the time he missed while the internet was down, they simply said, "No." This company is terrible and has no thought or care for their customers. Unfortunately, we live in an apartment complex which requires us to use Windstream and no other ISP. I am so incredibly angry with this company and would NEVER in a million years recommend this company to ANYONE trying to figure out which internet service provider to use. To anyone who reads this, use anything else BUT Windstream. Like I said, the service is "spotty" at best and their customer service team is rude and uncaring. Terrible....

Windstream are a bunch of liars
I had a phone bill the previous month of approx. $113 for phone, internet and TV. This month they sent a bill of approx. $324 claiming that they performed some services which were not done as my spouse told them the request was cancelled. This cancellation was apparently never relayed to the billing department from the service department. The added $120 for service fees which were never done and were requested to be cancelled. How can a company be so *** and get things all out of order on a simple service as a phone bill??? I have yet to find anyone at Windstream to admit that they made a HUGE mistake. We need some advocacy group to take this complaint all the way to the State Attorney Generals office.

wow i had a complaint about a bogus charge on my phone bill. i took it down to Windstream and complained. They did nothing and pointed me to a phone. The person on the other end of the phone told me they can't do anything I have to call the third party. I wrote a complaint online with the BBB of AR. Windstream took their time responding to the complaint and said they dealt with the matter. Low and behold I get my phone bill and can you guess? THE CHARGE IS BACK ON MY BILL AGAIN. I am now writing my complaint on this site as well as another complaint to the BBB of AR and with the FTC. With this country in the state it's in and my limited income due to being disabled I really don't need to deal with big business doing more ripping me off.
Company does nothing
I have taken my concerns and complaint to the phone company that is allowing voicemail professionals to attach charges; without checking into the validity of the charges from me. They have decided they take no action and tell me to call their customer service then they will tell me again to call the company saying I signed up for their service. Where is the customer service when I am told to take care of everything myself. I guess having people as customers are not a real concern anymore. Allowing and attaching charges to my account without checking with the customer if they actually authorized the charge. Companies dealing with companies and disregarding the customers. Where do we fit in besides footing their padded bills.
