Service drops / customer service makes up problems that could cause

I have tried to be polite and call the Windstream internet technical support a few times and each time I get a different reason for why my internet service drops every few minutes. After doing everything they asked of me the problem is still present. (I even dropped every device other than my IPad.... with only one device online I still get dropped. In fact my wireless is dropped right now and I am on my 3G phone service). The lastest.... I was told it was because I had 5 devices. I went to only one device and of course, no surprise to me, it does not resolve the problem. I have been online (different company) since 1995. I am a tech geek and these people manning the phones are totally out of their leagues, I know what I am talking about having been in computer science fields over 30 years (United States Marine Corps - 1978 start). This company has totally failed the customer in their service and customer service ability to detect problems. I intend to next write the board of directors - but admit that they too will likely blow me off. I do intend to continue to make this known via social media and other internet media until someone decides to listen to a REAL knowledgable customer complaint and take my complaint seriously. Sad..... that a company I had enjoyed business with for 5+ years now being so disappointing. Totally unsatisfactory service and customer service in resolving a problem. Paula McChesney

Windstream should just quit trying to be an ISP.

I have had ever-worsening service with Windstream's internet ever since I got it. I have to unplug the power cord to my Windstream suppled modem EVERY DAY so it will come back on and find an IP address hopefully on another server so my 3.0 MBPS D/L speed will get off the 2-300 KPBS it degrades to EVERY DAY and go back up to about 2.5 MBPS D/L (it NEVER is 3.0 MPBS, that's just what I pay for, never what I get). I have never had decent resolution to this problem in all the years I have called Windstream's "Help line". I am moving over to the TDS cable internet service and porting my phone over to them too. I am severing all ties to Windstream and hope they go out of business. I am used to real phone companies who actually support DSL that works. Windstream is not one of them. Shun Windstream like the plague if you have any options other than them. Useless company.

There is some things going on in your Dalton Georgia branch that may need to be look into. Employees dating, home wrecking and causing what I believe is giving your Company a bad Name. This is not good for your company knowing things of this demeanor going on. People like your company employees having relationships with married and children involved. Also employee and employee Relationships. Is there a policy against this kind of actions? If not there should be because in my opinion these acts of Adultery and philandering is not good Business or customer relations. So this needs to be forwarded to the top of the list to the top people in your company.

Can not access the internet

My bill states that I am paying for high speed internet. They advertise high speed internet. When I called them I was rudely stated to me that NO ONE SAID IT WAS HIGH SPEED AND THAT YOU COULD STREAM MOVIES. They told me that the wires are copper and not fiber optic and that means that I could not have the product that I was paying for.They stated that they have no intention of laying and fiber optic and that I should go online during non-peak hours. It was stated that streaming is new and they do not have the capability to stream. I just called Hughes and they are replacing Windstream. The customer service team yells and tells me that no one told me that I would have high speed or be able to stream. UNTRUE!!!!! That just give me the copper tubing speech and insult me.

Terrible customer service

Phone has gone out for days. I call and they tell me that it will be days before I will get a service call -- not that it will be fixed -- but that I will get a service call. A Windstream tech center is less than 3 miles from my house! The service is so bad that they have so many service calls that it will be days before I get a service call. I want to go to Comcast if their service is any better. Has anyone had any luck contacting the corporate offices? Or will that just be more of the same run around? What a lousy company to do business with.

If possible AVOID Windstream

Windstream is a horrible company to try to do business with. I called in to report my phone not working (the second time this month) and requested that my bill be prorated for the unusable days since the problem was not resolved the first time. They would not do it as they said that I would have to contact them when my phone was back in working order and dispute it. I do not want a dispute, just fair business practice. I requested that my phone be disconnected at this point and my bill be prorated for the unused days on my billing cycle. They said that I would have to pay for the entire month and then file a dispute for reimbursement. They are a terrible company that is only interested in sales and could care less about service after the sale. Don't take my word for it. Research it for yourself.

I have had the worst time trying to get service installed at my home with windstream I had an appointment scheduled for the 18th of August technician stated that he was outside never showed up stayed at the home was not serviceable I called and spoke with a rep Katie and she was a supervisor , I spoke to another supervisor Miranda. I've been trying to get service installed since the 16th of August. I had an install schedule again on the 24th of August. Without notifying me they change that appointment to the 26th of August. It has been a run around with them for 8 days still no service. I am in the middle of nowhere . My mother is 86 years old she is diabetic I also have two small children in the house where there is no landline. God forbid something happens to them I would have to leave my home and drive 10 miles just to get service on my cell phone. The customer service this sucks. I literally hate that I have to use them for service.

Windstream was charging my mother over 50 dollars a month for a 2 mb connection, until I pointed out to them that cox gives people close to 10 mbs for the same price, and that windstream was giving other customers In our area 8 mbs for that price. They quickly fixed that issue by raising us to 8 mbs, but for the past four years at least we've had boughts of no service for weeks or months at a time. They promise to send a tech out next day, and it ends up being roughly two weeks. They have made no effort whatsoever to compensate us for they're unreliable service, and we aren't the only ones on our block with this issue. Windstream needs to reevaluate how they do business in small town America. *** customer service on planet earth, every month when our Internet stops working and we have to call they feed us the same old line of bs. I asked to speak to a supervisor last week when the tech failed to show up for the third time that week, and the customer service rep was short with me, and then hung up on me. I'm considering contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Windstream has absolutely no customer service that delivers results. I have always had to follow up with any request for repairs.

I have been a prisoner of Windstream for 12 years, a monopoly at its best! They promise 3 Mbps and often it is less than 1 Mbps. Many calls made to complain no help from customer no service. They give the runaround they steal with impunity! We need a class action lawsuit to require them to perform or not lie about what they can provide. Clark Howard might be of some help. Let's see if we can get together and bring some pressure. Call state reps and consumer office post everywhere you can. The madness and deceit must stop thought this was a free country?

No other internet option. Average internet speed of 250kb/s when paid for 3mb/s. Windstream says this is "within tolerance". The slow connnection also is extremely unstable and drops about twice an hour.

I have had internet service with windstrram for over 15 years and it gets worse every week. On a modest 3 mb connection i average .07 to .33 download speed between 8am and midnights constantly.

I keep calling windstream and get nothing but the run around. They cut back on speed while overselling service on old copper lines. They have said for three years we are scheduled for fiber upgrade but cannot say when it will be done. They offer no cut in charges for services they are uneilling to provide.

Worst customer service agents in the industry. I work in the IT industry and know when some 20 year okd tries to blow smoke and talk down to me.

Verizon will have a tower within a mile of me by the end of the year. My time with wondstream is coming to a quick end.

I don't even have service yet. I called on 6/24/2015 to order service. I was given the date 06/30/2015 for installation. Lets just say its 7/8/2015 and still no service. No one at the call centers are willing to be accountable. This is the only service where I live and without it my business will close. The communcation between customer and dispatch is non existant. I do not recommend service.

They are about to put me out of business too. I ordered a phone line from them on Monday and they are telling me it will take 7 to 10 days to get it installed.

Already have a major client about to cancel on me because I don't have an analog phone line to connect to their system. It's been very stressful and nerve wracking to deal with this company.

lip service and a bill is the only thing I ever get from windstream.. every time i complain that my internet service is terrible,and that is a constant, nothing ever changes !!! promised 12 bits in March.. it is now ...July..Nothing.. service Tech suspose to be here yesterday.. waited 12 hours on them, but no show, even called to verify at 4 oclock..Called last night about the no show, promised a call at 8 am.. nothing!!!! so I call this morning outraged , and am told they will try to get someone here within the next 4 days ..like i am going to wait at my home for that !!!! Always *** connection

My upload speed never goes above 0.50 MBPS and even the slightest rain will cripple my internet completely leaving it completely useless. When I can drive 10mins down the road and use cell reception to watch a youtube video faster we have a problem. any basic streaming outlet is nothing but a spinning circle that I have a bill for. Windstream is a nightmare monopoly and I wish a bigger company would step in and save us. If any hope of changing our internet speeds we would have more luck calling other providers and asking them to expand into our area versus count on lagstream to listen.
