We have been contacting them for about 7 months now. Our business paid for the phone that only got used 5 times a year only in July and we were paying for a rented phone that no longer existed (from 15+ years earlier).

We had originally tried to cancel in September and they told us it had to be sent on on official letterhead with our company. We did not have letterhead with our logo so we went through the process of getting it just for them. Sent it in October notifying them we were canceling. Then shortly after that we got a billing letter from them for the months it was supposedly canceled.

We had to resend the letter because they didnโ€™t have it (with original date that we had proof). Eventually they sent it to collections (a running bill for all the months it was cancelled and the phone was never used). Employees keep telling us it is taken care of and then we get another bill and call to find out nothing was done. We were nice every time even though it is extremely frustrating.

Collections would tell us we had to deal with them and they would tell us to deal with collections. In April we were told it would be submitted and taken care of because they could see the phone had not been used and we had cancelled. Received another bill and called and they said it was submitted but a supervisor denied it! Employees should not say it is good if it is not.

End of may they are now saying it was approved (after us refusing to get off the line because they wanted us to call collections instead who we had just talked to) and we have asked for their names and the notes and confirmation. They said it is being mailed. We will see. Each time we have been sure it was done and over and it comes back.

We will see this time. Recommend not dealing with this company, expensive, poor customer care, low quality, and untrustworthy, and difficult.

Worse than offering loyalty discounts, even WITH a contract Windstream has raised our monthly rates twice!

Keep in mind we were loyal customers overpaying for 15+ years and were never offered deals or cheaper service.
