Windstream - Slow internet speed
My Windstream DSL speed is 11 mbps in the early morning and by mid afternoon consistently drops to 1 or less. Contact with tech service is a disaster as they will not assist in repairing the lack of high speed DSl because when my Windstream modem broke they wanted me to pay 7.00 per month rental fee for a new one.
I chose to buy my own Linksys modem for a one time cost. No problems until the past 6 months with lack of speed as the day gets longer and continuous
needs for buffering on my computer and while viewing movies. My modem has been checked and is not the issue. Spoke with a Best Buy employee about the issue and he had the same problem with Windstream.
Unfortunately Windstream is the ONLY source of internet service in our geographical area....some kind of a government law that prohibits other internet suppliers from entering this area. I pay 66.00 per month for high speed service and get 1 mbps for 1/2 the day.
Customer service is nonexistent . Stay away from Windstream if you are able.
